INTRODUCTION Despite significant improvement in Anti-HBV vaccination and treatment, HBV infection continues to be a major global health problem. It has been reported that as much as 350 million carriers exist in the world and about one million of them will die annually (1). The prevalence of HBV infection in Iran ranged between 2.7 to 7.2 %, which declined below 2% following national vaccination (2). Patients on CHD are susceptible to HBV infection.
